Ashitaka and San by Joe Hisaishi
This song brings tears to my eyes every single time I play it; no exaggeration. I love it to bits, even though the images that come to mind whilst listening are heartbreaking yet nostalgic.

Days Gone By (Helios Remix) by Mint Julep
I want to say this, and I don’t know where else to put it except here, on my tumblr. I feel like ever since December, nothing has been going right for me, absolutely nothing. Maybe it’s bad karma, really, I have no idea. I’ve had anger and frustration bottled up for 6 months now, and I’ve got no way of releasing it. Genuine happiness is something I do not remember experiencing; it’s been way too long. I’m beyond lost and if I don’t find myself before I move to Miami in 2 months, I’m afraid some part of me will be lost forever. This sounds absolutely ridiculous but it’s the way I’m feeling at the moment.

I’d like to take a moment to say thank you all, for absolutely everything!
I’m at 400 likes on my Facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/margimadness and I made it only 2 months ago. Never imagined I’d have so many supporters. Thank you to those who have recently followed me on Tumblr, as well!
I entered Alexandra Cameron’s photography contest (for any of you wondering, here is my submission http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=204232416364711&set=a.160216734099613.33981.160199090768044&type=1&theater¬if_t=like and if you want, ‘like’ it to vote for me! Thank you in advance if you do <3 ) and I’m in the lead at the moment! The contest ends on Sunday.
This contest has really opened my eyes in many ways. I’ve realized that I need to take my photos up a notch and take many, many more. This year, I’ve barely even brought my camera out of my house and I feel like a big part of my life went missing.
Other than that, I have a month left of school, and two months left here in Greece until I move back to America!

thank you sooooo much for your help! i don't know anything about cameras, but i want to make sure i get the right one (: i'll probably go with whatever you recommend after reading a few reviews (: do you know if the nikons are sturdy, or do they break a lot? also, one last thing... if i am only going to get one lens, which do you recommend for everything? (macro work, portraits, etc.) thank you sooooo much! i really appreciate it! No problem! If anything, I think that for the price range you’re looking for, Canon is more ‘cheap.’ Nikon cameras and lenses are sturdy & durable. There isn’t one lens that can do everything unfortunately. :. In the other message I sent you, I recommended you to get a 50mm 1.8 instead of an 18-55; the 50mm is great for portraits and /perhaps/ for macro, but it cannot do landscapes and wide-angle shots. I guess it would be better for you to just stick with the 18-55 for a month or two until you learn how to use the camera really well and invest in a 50mm (which is only 100$;which is a great price for a lens). And regarding the memory cards, I usually have a 16GB or 32GB because it holds a lot more photos! No specific brand, though. :) Hope that helped! Sorry for answering so late |

hi! i'm zoe scurletis's sister eleni, and i just wanted to say your photography is AMAZING! i'm saving up for a nice camera, and i was just wondering what camera and what lens you use? i love love love your macro work! do you recommend your camera? is it easy to use? thank you so much! sorry to bother you! (: Ah yes I remember you :D Thank you so much. I use a Nikon D90, it’s super easy to use, and it takes video. I have a Sigma 50mm f/1.4 for portraits, Tamron 90mm for macro, and an 18-105 for just about anything. But the D90 kind of an old model, I would suggest you get the Nikon D5100. Nikon cameras, in my opinion, are more user-friendly than Canon. Another suggestion I would make is to NOT buy the 18-55mm lens that comes with the camera, you’re better off buying a 50mm f/1.8 for that money; it’s so much more worth it. Before you buy your camera, look at reviews of different ones online and see which one suits you most :). No, don’t worry you’re not bothering at all, quite the contrary :D |
